About

BACP Accredited Psychotherapist Online & Face-to-Face Therapy

I’m Shirley Banton, a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist offering professional online therapy, telephone counselling, and face-to-face sessions in Harold Wood, East London. Many of the people I work with are women who are used to holding a lot for others and may feel overwhelmed or emotionally tired. I provide a calm, supportive space for adults seeking therapy for anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure where to begin. Therapy is not always about quick solutions, meaningful change often develops over time as trust builds and patterns become clearer. My work supports you to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and move forward at a pace that feels manageable.

Online therapy allows you to access consistent, confidential support from the comfort of your own space, while maintaining the depth and continuity of therapeutic work.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch or book a free 15-minute consultation. You don’t need to carry everything alone. Reaching out for therapy is a meaningful first step, and I’m here to support you through that process.

My Background and Therapeutic Approach

I’m an Accredited Psychotherapist (MBACP Accred) and Founder of Leyvon Psychotherapy. I have over ten years of clinical experience, alongside more than twenty years’ experience in education, leadership, and quality assurance.

I offer integrative psychotherapy grounded in Person-Centred and Transpersonal approaches. My work is relational, reflective, and responsive to each client’s individual experiences. Therapy with me is collaborative and develops over time, allowing space for deeper understanding and emotional safety.

I work extensively with women who are survivors of abuse, young adults, and professionals experiencing stress, burnout, or emotional pressure. Many clients choose online therapy for its flexibility, privacy, and ease of access.

While some clients attend therapy short-term, many find ongoing therapy over several months supports more meaningful and lasting change.

How I Help

Because a Stronger Mind Starts with Small Steps

Counselling helps you build gentle, consistent habits to support your mental wellbeing —
one day at a time.

Counselling

Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space to explore emotional difficulties. This may include experiences you feel unable to share elsewhere. Early sessions focus on building trust and understanding. As therapy progresses, counselling can help you develop greater insight, emotional awareness, and resilience.

If you are considering therapy, the next step is an initial consultation. This allows you to ask questions, understand how online or face-to-face therapy works, and explore whether working together feels right.
Therapy is not rushed or time-limited unless that's what you're seeking. Many clients begin therapy openly, reviewing progress together as the work develops.

Testimonials

Former Private Therapy Client

I worked with Shirley privately, and the impact our work together has had on me has been genuinely transformative.
We covered so many different areas of my life, from navigating a career change to relationships with friends and family, as well as helping me through an extremely difficult period of grief.
What I valued most about working with Shirley was the trust and guidance she provided, while always doing so in a way that helped me build my own understanding of myself.
I came away not just feeling supported through particular situations, but with a much greater knowledge of myself and tools that I still find myself using every day.
I really cannot recommend Shirley enough, and I'm hugely grateful for everything she helped me discover and work through.
A huge thank you.
